Cosmetic and restorative nose surgery - Rhinoplasty
This is an outpatient procedure that is used to restore the shape of the nose to a cosmetically desirable form. The key, however, to a successful outcome is addressing both cosmesis and function. Dr. Falsafi is uniquely qualified to achieve these goals by using fundamental reconstructive Rhinoplasty nose surgery principles in order to create both a cosmetically pleasing result and a functionally superior nose.

Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
Endoscopic Sinus Surgery is a surgical modality for some diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses. It is the mainstay in the surgical treatment of sinusitis and nasal polyposis, including fungal sinusitis.
Endoscopic Sinus Surgery is a relatively recent surgical procedure that uses nasal endoscopes (using Hopkins rod lens telescopes) to minimize cutting and trauma to the skin. These endoscopes have diameters of 4mm and 2.7mm and come in varying angles of vision from 0 degrees to 30, 45, 70, 90, and 120 degrees. They provide good illumination of the inside of the head and can be introduced into the nose after anesthetising.
Endoscopic Sinus Surgery came into existence because of pioneering work of Messerklinger and Stamberger (Graz, Austria.) Other surgeons have made additional contributions (first published in USA by Kennedy in 1985).[1]
The surgical technique usually adopted is the Messerklinger technique.

Snoring and Sleep Apnea Treatment
The most common sleep disturbances originate in the head and neck. This uniquely qualifies the Otolaryngologist to diagnose and manage airway-related sleep problems. Dr. Falsafi has been specifically trained and equipped to investigate and treat airway-related sleep disorders – most commonly obstructive sleep apnea and snoring.
Non-surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea using breathing devices typically involves wearing a breathing mask during sleep. Also known as CPAP or BI-PAP, the air pump increases pressure in the airway, forcing it to remain open during sleep. However, this treatment modality is not always successful. Other non-surgical options include the dental appliance – a custom-fit mouthpiece that changes the position of the jaw during sleep to encourage the airway to stay open. The Lamorinda ENT, Face & Neck Surgery in collaboration with Lamorinda Dental is uniquely poised to address these issues.
